What Does a Companion Caregiver Do?
A companion caregiver provides older adults who live independently with companionship and assistance in light day-to-day tasks. Adults receiving companion care don’t require an intense level of care and may not require care every day. A companion caregiver’s primary job is to engage in conversation and join the client in some of their favorite pastimes to help alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation. Providing older adults with emotional support can greatly improve their quality of life.

Qualifications
Celestial Care will give you the necessary training to deliver the best possible care to each client, but there are a few qualifications and traits that will help set you up for success as a companion caregiver:
- 1 Year of prior caregiving experience
- Possession of a driver’s license and a reliable car
- Sensitivity to the needs of others, especially older adults
- Ability to follow a schedule
- Understanding of basic health and hygiene practices
- Attention to detail
