What does a Supportive Caregiver do?
A supportive caregiver provides clients with day-to-day assistance on tasks they otherwise wouldn’t be able to complete on their own while providing basic medical checks and care. Adults receiving supportive care require a degree of care beyond companion care and often require a level of medical assistance on a daily basis. They may have difficulty moving around their homes on their own or completing a basic range of day-to-day tasks. A supportive caregiver’s primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and success of the client’s tasks on a day-to-day basis.
Supportive Caregiver Responsibilities
- Providing basic medical care
- Identification of potential medical issues
- Housekeeping
- Grocery Shopping
- Helping sort mail
- Helping clients get ready for bed
- Helping clients wake up and get dressed
- Helping clients stand up and sit down

Supportive Caregiver Qualifications
A supportive caregiver must be reliable and flexible to the unique needs of each client. Celestial Care will provide all necessary training to give the best possible care, but there are unique qualifications we look for.
- 1 Year of prior caregiving experience
- Possession of a driver’s license and a reliable car
- Sensitivity to the needs of others, especially older adults
- Ability to follow a schedule
- Understanding of basic health and hygiene practices
- Attention to detail
